Our Collector's Take

Comic-cover pieces succeed or fail on the deco, and Sabretooth gets a treatment that respects the source. The fur is molded in clumps rather than painted as texture, the claws are distinct digits, and the face carries the heavy brow and sideburns that make the character recognizable at a glance. The color work stays faithful to the printed original, which is the point of a cover series. The pose is low and forward, closer to a crouch than the upright stance most comic figures get.

Number 63 in the Marvel Comic Covers X-Men line, and it was sold as an exclusive piece, never as open stock.

Cover-based figures tend to look best grouped by title, since they were designed to echo a specific run of books; a single X-Men cover on a shelf tends to want company.
