The sculpt drops the helmet and gives you the character out of uniform from the neck up, a different read from the dozen masked versions already on most Marvel shelves. Most of those keep the cowl on, and that is the whole difference here.
The SDCC tag puts it in a convention channel rather than general retail. It's number 92, one of the earlier Avengers entries, which matters to collectors working through the sequence in order.
Convention pieces get collected as a sub-group on their own, separate from the film waves. That kind of side list is where this one belongs.
The unmasked treatment is the detail to check against your existing Captain America figures before adding another.
