Log in to reviewThe top hat is a small addition doing a lot of work, and it's what makes this Tom worth picking over the plain version. The pose keeps the classic mischievous lean, and catalog number 1096 comes out of the Animation run alongside the rest of the Tom and Jerry releases.
Cat-and-mouse duos are a staple of the line, and collectors who grew up on the shorts wants both characters standing together rather than one alone. Tom is the half that carries the personality in the sculpt.
Animation as a category keeps growing, which means older numbers like this one sit in a different place than the newest waves — nearer the front of a run that has been building for years.
