Log in to reviewThe Specialty Series exists for characters who don't belong to a numbered film or TV wave, and Popeye is a natural resident — number 369, a design old enough to predate most of the properties Funko licenses, and one that translates into vinyl with almost no adjustment.
The forearms, the squint and the sailor cap are all present, and the format's proportions genuinely suit a character who was always drawn with an oversized head and hands. Very little had to be redesigned to make him work here.
What matters is that the sculpt commits to the source rather than sanding it down for the format, and that decision is what makes the figure hold together at this scale, with the head and hands reading as a single unit. Here the age is the feature rather than a drawback.
